Are you involved in any campus clubs?

I am on the Varsity Figure Skating Team! While being a student athlete requires good time management, being on a team has helped me meet new people and stay active.

Why did you choose to study in the Faculty of Environment at Waterloo?

I knew early into highschool that I wanted to pursue Urban Planning. When I began researching my options, the University of Waterloo's Faculty of Environment really stood out to me. Attending a Faculty dedicated to the Environment allowed me to be confident that I would be surrounded with like-minded individuals with similar goals. UW was the only school I applied to that had such a unique faculty, and I knew it was somewhere I could thrive.

What do you love most about your program?

I love how broad Planning is. Being able to learn about transportation, finance, land development, urban design and more always keeps me engaged and interested. Aside from academics, the program's community is also great! Students are always willing to support each other, and the teaching staff do a great job at ensuring every student is set up with the resources to succeed.

What problem would you like to solve?

Equity is very important to me, which is why I wish to work towards helping solve the affordable housing crisis. Several courses in first and second year, especially PLAN 103, gave me a solid foundation to build ideas and set goals to help the crisis. I am also pursuing a minor in Urban Finance and Economics to help my career goals. By offering this minor, the Faculty of Environment has allowed me to enhance my degree, and achieve my goals.
