Spearheaded by Drs Aynur Kadir and Shana MacDonald, Games Institute members from multiple disciplines have teamed up to offer a day-long training for incoming Research Assistants. The training will involve a series of sessions exploring interdisciplinary research topics, each led by a professor, graduate researcher, or GI alum.
Social-distancing is not only an obstacle for onboarding incoming RAs into their roles, it also restricts how well RAs can get to know the culture of the Games Institute and build a network with our members. Under regular circumstances, RAs would be able to meet and learn from people working in diverse research fields, just from being in close proximity to other members at the Games Institute. This training session aims to foster community building by allowing RAs to meet others in their cohort, as well as each learning from our speakers.
Hosted entirely through Microsoft Teams, the session runs from 10am - 3pm on Thursday, January 14th. GI faculty members are encouraged to enrol their RAs in this training by emailing Pamela Schmidt.
