Pamela Maria Schmidt, currently Research Projects Facilitator at the Games Institute, received the English Co-op Report Award in recognition of her significant contribution to our community during her co-op terms.
When she first joined, she had two consecutive co-op terms, first as our Operations Assistant and then as Assistant Project Manager. We’ve been fortunate enough to keep her on now in her new role so that she can continue to support and enhance the GI’s impact.
The Games Institute congratulates Pam for her success!
And that’s not all… over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing excerpts from her co-op report in a series of installments. Stay tuned; Not only does the report showcase the brilliance of one of our researchers and staff members, it offers spectacular insight into the Games Institute culture.
Pam discusses how and why we use games to facilitate interdisciplinary crossovers, and this springboards into a fantastic discussion on how we articulate interdisciplinarity in the fibres of what we do.
In Pam’s own words,
“[The] Games Institute uses the act of playing games (focusing more on play then games) as a tool to help create discourse and facilitate an interdisciplinary environment.”
