Venue descriptions

Here are the venues available to you to host your information session. These are the most commonly used venues and have been proven to be effective for facilitating information sessions. If you require additional accommodations, you may inquire about an alternative venue.

Please note that your catering and audio-visual requirements can be met at all venues regardless of the features of the room or venue. Advance notice is required and there will be an additional fee.

William M. Tatham Centre (TC)

Tatham Centre

The Tatham Centre provides an excellent opportunity for employers to host an information session in the same building they conduct their in-person interviews. It is conveniently located near the main entrance to campus, adjacent to several parking lots.

William G. Davis Centre (DC)

Davis Centre

Named for the former Premier of Ontario, the Davis Centre was designed by the same individual who designed the downtown Toronto Eaton Centre. The building itself is intended to look like the motherboard of a computer reflecting the studies of many of the students within. The Davis Centre offers employers a chance to host information sessions in a high-traffic building with high student exposure.

The Institute for Computer Research (ICR), housed within the Davis Centre offers three uniquely styled rooms to suit a wide variety of needs.

DC 1301 ("Fishbowl")

DC 1301, also known as the "Fishbowl", is a corporate lounge located in a high-traffic area on campus. With completely glass walls, the Fishbowl is a great location for attracting students walking by. The large room and spacious setup is great for networking events and presentations.

  • One projector and screen, no audio.

*Trained operators are paid for time worked including setup/ tear down, minimum 1.5 hours and are billed extra.

 1302 ("Colloquium")

DC 1302, the Colloquium, is a lecture hall style room. The room is complete with a podium for the presenter and fixed tables and chairs for students. DC 1302 provides employers with a traditional classroom atmosphere for both formal and informal sessions.

DC 1304 ("Theatre")

DC 1304 is built like a theatre with fixed theatre style chairs in a semi-circle around a wall size screen. DC 1304 provides a smaller and more personal experience for employers and students due to its smaller size and design. As an added feature the theatre style chairs also house hide-away table surfaces, similar to those found in lecture halls.

University Club (UC)

 University Club

The University Club offers employers the opportunity to meet, dine, and socialize with students in a formal and elegant atmosphere. Located on the north-side of campus, the University Club is situated adjacent to three student residences and several parking lots. The University Club offers a variety of services ranging from friendly and helpful on-site catering staff, a fully stocked bar, private dining, and reception areas.

The Multipurpose Room, allows employers to host info sessions that draw a large crowd. Located centrally on campus, and in the heart of the Student Life Centre, this is a great space to attract students. It's a popular place that provides students with a range of spaces for socializing, eating, and studying. Please note: this space is not available to book prior to one month before the term of booking.

 POETS (CPH)

POETS is the undergraduate engineering student lounge. It’s a great place to hang out, have lunch, watch some TV, or play some foosball. POETS is fully equipped with a sound system and video projector. Many Engineering Society events are held in POETS including the BOT, MOT and EOT term parties.
