The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present a Distinguished Lecture by Dr. Thomas Thundat, a SUNY Distinguished Professor and a SUNY Empire Innovation Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY. Please join us on Monday, September 30 at 11 a.m. in QNC 1501 to hear Professor Thundat's lecture titled "Real-time ultra-trace detection with molecular selectivity – A bridge too far?"

We are excited to announce that the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is partnering with the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) to host a special Pitches and Demos event on October 2nd at Quantum Nano Center (QNC). This unique gathering will feature a Dutch Startup Delegation in quantum-nanotechnology area, who are exploring collaborative opportunities in our vibrant Waterloo community. Food and drinks will be provided.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present a Distinguished Lecture by Dr. Niko Hildebrandt, Department of Engineering Physics, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. Please join us on Thursday, October 17 at 11 a.m. in QNC 1501 to hear Professor Hildebrandt's lecture titled "Luminescent nanoprobes for molecular diagnostics and biosensing."

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present a seminar with David Rivas, a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering Professor at the University of Twente, Research affiliate at MIT, USA and an Invited Professor at the Dermatology Department, Erasmus MC Hospital, Rotterdam, NL.

This seminar, "Microfluidics enables process intensification with cavitation and inertial ballistic," will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. in QNC 1501. 

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present a seminar with Masahiro Motosuke, Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tokyo University of Science (TUS), Japan, as well as the Director of the Water Frontier Research Center at the Research Institute for Science and Technology, TUS.

This seminar, "Microfluidic interfacial sensing and control for smart energy and future diagnosis," will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. in QNC 1501. 

This year, WIN will proudly host the Canadian Light Source (CLS) Annual Users Meeting (AUM) at the University of Waterloo on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. This is the first time the AUM will be held outside of Saskatoon, providing an excellent opportunity for the local scientific community here in Ontario to engage with this important national facility.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is pleased to present an Innovation Seminar with Hung-Ming Chen, Chia-Ching Chang, Bor-Ran Li and Ray-Hua Horng from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan.

This seminar, "Overview of Key Research Centers at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan," will be on Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. in QNC 1501.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) will be hosting a joint workshop between WIN and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan, on November 5th. The workshop will run from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM, followed by a Networking Lunch until 2:00 PM.

The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) and the Center for Nanointegration Duisberg-Essen (CENIDE) are pleased to present Alexander Sinitskii, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, for a joint 2D-MATURE seminar titled "Revealing the intrinsic properties of MXenes".

This seminar will be hosted at QNC1501 on November 28 at 10 AM!

Join us to celebrate WIN members' outstanding achievements! The research celebration will run from 2:00 - 2:45 PM on November 28th in QNC 1501 and will be followed by a holiday reception from 3:00 - 5:30 PM in the QNC Basement Atrium.
