Waterloo-Soochow Nanotechnology Education and Training Program

The Joint SUN-WIN-SIP Institute of Research and Education Program was started in 2012 to attract outstanding students and researchers from around the world to Waterloo and Soochow to study nanotechnology.

Waterloo-Soochow Doctorate Program

Waterloo-Soochow Doctorate Program

The Waterloo-Soochow Doctorate program is an exciting initiative where students will study at both schools for 2 years, while earning a PhD from UW with a certificate in international research from Soochow University. A scholarship of $10,000 CAD will be offered to eligible students for each year of study at the University of Waterloo.

Students will be co-supervised by a Waterloo professor from either the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Science when at UW, and a professor from Soochow University.

What does successful completion of the program mean?

  • Earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from University of Waterloo with two years international research experience in China.
