Congratulations to our 2015 undergraduate class!

This past week at the CORS/INFORMS 2015 conference in Montreal, Two Management Engineering (MGMT) teams won the top two prizes in the 2015 Student Paper Competition in the Undergraduate Category.  A third team was placed among the finalists (out of a total of 5 finalist teams from across Canada). Presented papers were all based on capstone design projects.

Management Engineering alumni Ari Paunonen (MGMT '12) and fellow Waterloo graduate, Mike Darlington sit down with Josh O'Kane of The Globe and Mail to talk about the music label they founded, it's success and how it's a big part of changes happening in the music industry.

Autodesk Canada Award 2015

Congratulations to our 4^th year Management Engineers; Hans Arijanto, Mike Kiss, Wessam Nasser and Kenny Leung from the protoSight team for their Autodesk Canada Capstone Design Award 2015.

Following last month's air disaster, over Ukrainian air space, BBC radio's James Coomarasamy, host of Newshour, got in touch with Management Science professor, Benny Mantin for a talk about the scrutiny airlines are under regarding their route planning and the economics behind it. 

MAJiK Works

Management Sciences, Management Engineering team MAJiK takes home second place in the Faculty of Engineering 90sC Student Video Competition.

Norman Esch Management Engineer Winners

2014 introduced the first Norman Esch Entrepreneurship Awards for Capstone Design. Funded by the Esch Foundation, this competition is open to all Engineering students at the University of Waterloo. 

MAJiK Systems, a technology start-up formed by 4B Management Engineering students Kamal Aman, Jared Evans, Michael Tatham, and Adam Singer, is featured in a recent Technology Spotlight article in FF Journal.

MAJiK Systems' product - MAJiK Connect - is a machine monitoring system that helps manufacturing plants make better operational decisions in today’s fast paced work environment.

Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS) Service Award 2013

Survey ranks Waterloo Faculty of Engineering Top Engineering School in Canada

In a recent survey published by Business Insider, the University of Waterloo was recognized as the top engineering school in Canada, ranking 29th in the world, and fourth amongst non-US institutions. Other Canadian universities in the top 50 include the University of Toronto (35) and University of Ottawa (44).
