Fourth-year technical electives for Mechanical Engineering students

Fourth Year Course Selection Information

Exams and Make-up Lectures

For 2nd and 3rd year classes, all midterms will be held in Monday, June 22 - Friday, June 26. For this week, core course lectures will be cancelled. Make-up lectures are scheduled as shown in the appropriate Make-up Lecture schedule.

This Make-Up Lecture schedule also shows dates for midterms and the final examination period, and any holidays during the term. All students should be aware that, even though final exams are scheduled to end on  Friday, August 7 - Saturday, August 15, it is still possible that some exams may be postponed by such things as bad weather or emergency situations.

Each student must be available for exams up to and including Saturday, Aug 15. Do not make plans (e.g. travel arrangements) for days prior to this date! Note also that no special allowances will be made for students who miss exams without a good reason (e.g. slept in or misread the schedule, are not good reasons)

Class Advisement Presentations

Class Representatives and the Student /Faculty Committee

Each class must elect a class professor and two student representatives to serve on the Student-Faculty Committee. This committee meets over lunch every second Thursday starting in Week 2 and serves as a liaison between the class and the department. Please choose your class professor and class representative during the first week of term.

Class Reps: Please inform Tanya Yoworski who your class representatives will be.

Adding and dropping courses

Students can make course changes, if applicable, by logging on to QUEST at https://uwaterloo.ca/quest/ . Engineering students are not permitted to drop core courses and at times you may need to email Liz to drop a course.

Important Notes About Course Enrolment

Before each academic term begins, you will be automatically enrolled on QUEST in your required core courses. You will not be allowed to proceed to your next academic term unless you have a satisfactorily standing according to the rules in the Undergraduate calendar. Liz will send out emails with more specific information as the course enrollment cycle occurs.
