My research aims to improve the usability of a Magnetic Levitation Floor (MagFloor) with the aid of computer vision, advanced control systems, and machine learning for potential application in flexible manufacturing. The MagFloor is the first of its kind and is one of the largest levitation platforms in the world. It enables contactless high precision motion control in 6 degrees of freedom with long-stroke planar motion and is highly versatile. My research is currently on improving the resolution of the camera-based state estimation for feedback control and utilizing machine learning to enable higher precision motion control.
