Jake Thiessen is the Founding Director of the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo. He receives the 2014 Pillar of Pharmacy Award from the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy, for his lifelong commitment to the pharmaceutical profession.

WATERLOO, Ont. (Wednesday, August 20, 2014) — Drs Colleen Maxwell and Kelly Grindrod, from the School of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Science, were two of five UWaterloo researchers awarded CIHR funding.

Nancy Waite, Professor and Associate Director at the School of Pharmacy, wins the 2015 Journal Award from the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education. This award is given to an individual who has displayed excellence in an item in the Article, Forum, or Reports of Practice categories in the Canadian Journals of University Continuing Education (CAUCE) publication.

One in four older people living at home with dementia also have other serious neurological conditions like stroke and Parkinson’s disease, a  study has found.

A Pharmacy Investment Club (PIC) at the University of Waterloo is preparing students for careers in an evolving profession that may not always include working at the community pharmacy.
