We are pleased to announce that Rx2013 student Chelsea Barr is one of five pharmacy students from schools across Canada chosen to receive this award from the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada. The recipients will be engaged in facets of the ‘Pharmacists-in-Training’ initiative which involves development of a national on-line educational program for pharmacy students in health informatics.

PharmD Program Approved

We are pleased to announce that the School of Pharmacy has received approval from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer an entry-to-practice PharmD program . 

Congratulations to Rx2014 students Bhupender Sayain, Danielle Paes, Jaskiran Otal and Kacie Lunn who submitted the winning student video at the national Commitment to Care and Service Awards held in Toronto last night

At the June conference, Waterloo Pharmacy received the Canadian Pharmacists Association’s Certificate of Recognition. This CPhA award is conferred on pharmacy groups or professional organizations to recognize outstanding service or contribution to the profession and the community. Loblaw, a longstanding co-op employer, nominated the School, our first graduating class, and the faculty for this award.  

The School of Pharmacy held its first Business Awards Ceremony on April 5. Presented at the ceremony were the Scotiabank Pharmacy Entrepreneurship Award and the Pharmasave Industrial Case Study Competition Award.

2011 Student video competition

Congratulations to Rx2013 students Annick Nguyen and Gabriela Krnac who were the winners of the 2011 Student Video competition at the Commitment to Care and Service Awards in Toronto last night. Their entertaining video on the Future of Pharmacy was well-received by the audience at the awards ceremony where pharmacists from across Canada gathered to celebrate notable achievements. 

The first class in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo officially graduated on Saturday, October 22.  The School hosted a pre-convocation reception on Friday, October 21 that was attended by more than 200 graduates, family members, faculty, staff and supporters of the program. 

Congratulations to the team of Alia Thawer, Calvin Poon, Catherine Prochazka, Vanessa Raco and Mihir Patel who are this year’s winners of the PharmaSave Industrial Case Competition. The title of their proposal was “University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy Clinical Capstone Program: A self-sustaining business model“.
