The title and description of our event is:
So We've Declared a Climate Emergency... Now What?
Our event theme builds on the exploration of urban transformations which was the focus of our Fall event in 2021. We know that 516 municipalities across Canada, including 54 municipalities in Ontario, have joined what has now become an international movement for cities and governments to declare a “climate emergency”. The central question for our event is to what extent has a councils’ declaration catalyzed climate action in Canadian municipalities ? Where are we with respect to plans, action, and progress on climate adaptation, emissions reduction and resilience? (see event full description below signature)
We’ve lined up a stellar cast of contributors to set our knowledge foundation in the morning followed by municipal and private sector panels in the afternoon, and culminating with a keynote address during our networking event.
