Current coursework graduate students

Students will work closely with the Practicum Coordinator to find a practicum that will provide them with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills and to connect with future employers. Once the practicum has been secured, students will work with the practicum supervisor to complete a learning contract.

The practicum is a mandatory component of all professional graduate programs and can be taken after all core coursework is complete.

Students must maintain the status indicated in their application for at least the first term (Fall term). Following the first term, a student may request to change their status from full-time to part-time (or vice versa).

Tuition for regular graduate programs at the University of Waterloo is charged based on enrolment status. There are no per-course fees applied in the Professional Graduate Programs. Please see the tuition fee schedules for more details, and the finance website for information on how to pay your fees.

Students enrolled in Professional Graduate Programs in the School of Public Health Sciences are eligible to request study space when visiting the campus. Please contact the Professional Graduate Programs Assistant if you need help finding a working space.

The Term progress Report Presents an opportunity for you to highlight any obstacles you may be experiencing towards degree completion.

Near the end of each term, you will receive an email from the Professional Graduate Programs Assistant with the survey and the due date to submit your report. You will complete and submit the survey on Waterloo Learn.

The Advising Committee will review all the reports and, if there are any concerns about your progress, you will receive a note from the program indicating what they are and suggesting you contact Professional Graduate Programs Coordinator to discuss your options and develop a plan for successfully completing the program.
