About the Award

The Meghan Reid Memorial Award is offered in memory of a former Renison University College student, Meghan Reid, whose life was tragically cut short in a motor vehicle accident.

The Meghan Reid Memorial Award is open to full-time Social Development Studies students. It is available to a student in any year of study, who has a grade point average of 75% or higher and can demonstrate financial need. Students must also show community involvement, service and volunteerism. 

Preference will be given to those students interested in studying or specializing in the study of eating disorders, or other serious social/psychological issues faced by women.


Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be enrolled in the Social Development Studies program.
  2. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 75%.
  3. Demonstrate financial need.
  4. Demonstrate community involvement, service, and volunteer experience.
  5. Provide a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher (for first-year students) or a university professor (for second-year students and above).
