When he meets nightclub singer Sally Bowles and the club’s mysterious emcee, his life is turned upside down – just as the world is about to turn upside down, with Hitler on the rise. Hailed as a rare musical that both challenges and entertains, it premiered on Broadway in 1966 and ran over 1100 performances.

The UW Staff Association (UWSA) has invited the UW Retirees' Association (UWRA) to join them for the above event at Foxwood Country Club for an afternoon of fun, prizes, food and friends. All information can be found on the UWSA golf tournament website. The cost is $45.00 for UWRA members and $50.00 for non-UWRA members. This cost includes golf, cart and dinner.

Our resident historian, Gail Cuthbert Brandt, will entertain us with the fascinating details as we travel in our motor coach from Waterloo.
We are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Witmer will join us at LALL’s 17th Anniversary Lecture and Social on Tuesday, May 27. Elizabeth has a 32-year history in public service, first as a trustee and chair of the Waterloo Board of Education and then as the Kitchener-Waterloo MPP from 1990-2012. A strong advocate for the community, she brought the Cancer Centre to Grand River Hospital and the Cardiac Centre to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The meeting will consist of short reports on UWRA activities and election of any new board members. The AGM is generally brief, and is immediately followed by the Reception. Complimentary snacks and refreshments (wine, beer, and soft drinks) will be served.
