Deceptive Realities and Scams: How to Protect Yourself from Being a Victim of Fraud, presented by Detective Constable Mike Payne.

Detective Constable Mike Payne is a police officer with Waterloo Regional Police Service.  Currently assigned to the Fraud Unit, a significant portion of his over 27-year career has been victim-focused, investigating offences against seniors and providing education and training regarding elder abuse and financial exploitation.  Mike is Chair of the Waterloo-Wellington Elder Abuse Prevention Council, Vice-chairperson of Law Enforcement Agencies and Partners Protecting Seniors, and a member of the Ontario Securities Commission – Seniors Expert Advisory Committee.

The lunch will be Buffet Style, consisting of: Soup of the Day, Ruby Salad, Assorted Sandwiches, Fries, Squares & Dessert Platter & Non-Alcoholic Drinks. Alcoholic beverages are also available at an extra cost. If there are any dietary restrictions, please indicate these on your registration form.

The welcome table opens at 11.00 a.m.; please arrive in time to be seated for lunch at 11.30 a.m.

There is free parking at the facility, but if the parking lot becomes full, there is also free parking across the road at the YMCA/Harper Library, where parking is available in the first lot on the left, in the Conestoga College spaces.
