As someone who hails from an Asian country, I am highly intrigued by cross-cultural business practices in the Asia-Pacific region. I have always been fascinated by the similarities in cultures and business etiquette across Asian countries, and I believe that these similarities can be leveraged by companies to expand their operations across different Asian markets.

As a team, we have a wide range of responsibilities, such as creating engaging social media content, planning weekend excursions, diving deep into Vietnamese culture and customs, and — most importantly — taking you along for the ride through entertaining updates on social media!

Hello everyone! We’re the meals and logistics team for the Spring 2023 International Study Course trip to Vietnam! Our team has four members, consisting of Emily, Jacob, Rebekah, and Donald. As the meals and logistics team, our responsibilities are to arrange accommodations and transportation, and to plan out our trip’s schedule to make sure that everything goes smoothly as we explore Vietnam.

What skills have you been learning through being a part of the International Study Course trip?

Hi SAF,

We are the corporate relations team for the Spring 2023 International Study Trip to Vietnam! Our team is tasked with contacting businesses and companies in Vietnam to set up meetings with them when we visit Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.

Our team consists of Raphael, Tony, Quang, and Harshil. We are stoked to be travelling to Vietnam and are looking forward to sharing our exciting meetings and experiences with you!

A Journey of Learning and Collaboration

Participating in a case competition is an incredible opportunity to challenge oneself and learn from talented peers. That's precisely what myself and my colleagues, Pratham, Katherine, and Chloe, experienced when we competed in the ACHIEVE Case Competition in January.

As previous analysts on the Student Venture Fund and AFM 433: Business Strategy, enthusiasts, we had always been interested in analyzing companies and thinking of strategic possibilities for them. This drew us to the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.), where we became finalists in the business policy event.

A very big thank you to everyone who came to enjoy chilli, a candy bar, midterm survival kits, and tons of board games at Games and Sweets Night. It was a pleasure to see you all having so much fun! A special thanks to CFM Program Manager Kim Tremblay as well.

The event began with a delicious dinner of chilli and warm bread rolls catered by Jacqueline’s Catering. The bread rolls were a hit for sure!
