In September 2024, nearly 3,800 candidates across Canada wrote the Common Final Examination (CFE), the rigorous final step in the journey to become a Chartered Professional Account (CPA). Of those, there were seven outstanding alumni from the University of Waterloo, School of Accounting and Finance who placed in the top one percent, earning a place on the CPA Canada Honour Roll.

A night to remember

To honour these outstanding achievements, SAF proudly hosted a CFE Honour Roll Reception this May, where faculty, staff, family members, friends and guests from CPA Ontario including Carol Wilding, President & Chief Executive Officer, gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of our alumni.

It was an opportunity to recognize not only their individual success but also the supportive community that helped shape their journeys. A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of SAF’s new CFE Honour Roll plaque, commemorating alumni who have been awarded CPA’s prestigious Gold Medal.
