Glenn Ives

Mr. Ives is a corporate director and serves on the Boards of Kinross Gold Corporation, Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. and Nervgen Pharma Corp. He was a partner at Deloitte from 1999 to 2020 serving as Executive Chair from 2010 to 2018. He served on the Deloitte Global Board from 2010 to 2018 and was Chair of the Global Risk Committee from 2012 to 2018. Glenn was an audit partner in the mining and financial sectors from 1999 to 2010 and as Deloitte’s mining leader for North and South America from 2007 to March 2020. Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Ives held progressively senior leadership roles in the mining industry, including as CFO and Director of Vengold Inc. from 1993 to 1999, and Vice-President of Finance for TVX Gold Inc. from 1988 to 1993. Mr. Ives is currently the Chair of University of Waterloo’s School of Accounting and Finance Advisory Board and a director of the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation (Vancouver), the Canadian Nature Museum Foundation and West Vancouver United Church.

Mr. Ives holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Waterloo and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants and a member of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and Ontario. He was the gold medalist on the 1984 Uniform Final Exams in Ontario.

In addition to his role as Chair on the SAF Advisory Council, Glenn generously gives his time to the School speaking at many events and dedicated his time to support SAF students through mentorship opportunities including being an Honouree in the SAF Fellowship Program. He is a proud supporter of the University of Waterloo, dedicating much of his time to serve on University boards and committees. Glenn was named the SAF’s Alumni Achievement Award winner in 2011.
