It's time to explore the universe!

Budding astronomers, young and old, are welcome to gather in the QNC foyer for a cosmic experience like no other! Knowing that exploration requires sustenance, we won't let you venture into space empty handed (or empty stomached). Enjoy a yummy cosmic cupcake before you embark on your own astronomical discovery:

Mobile Planetarium Demonstrations:

We're happy to showcase our newest outreach facility- an inflatable mobile planetarium that features a variety of incredible 360 degree projections that will surely wow your inner astronomer. These 20-30 minute sessions have limited capacity so register ahead of time to avoid disappointment! Meet in QNC foyer 10 minutes prior to start time and we'll bring you to the planetarium!

Showtimes: 2:30 p.m. | 3:15 p.m. | 4:00 p.m.

Gustav Bakos Observatory Tours:

It's time to raise the roof (or at least visit it!). An astronomer's best tool of discovery is the telescope, and Waterloo has a fantastic 12-inch telescope in our observatory that's a must-see. Tours include the observatory itself plus a roof-top session for solar observing if weather permits. Our 20-30 minute sessions will have limited capacity so register for your preferred times! Meet in QNC foyer 15 minutes prior to start time and we'll walk you over!

Observatory Tour Times: 2:30 p.m. | 3:15 p.m. | 4:00 p.m.

Science Building Tours
2:00 p.m. and 3:00 pm.
QNC Foyer (start of tour)

Our fantastic team of Science Ambassadors will lead you through our newest science labs and lecture space as well as throw in a few nostalgic places. You might just learn a few things on your journey!
