How I get involved: I am the co-president of UW Healthcare Symposium, where we run pitch competitions, healthcare themed events, and skills workshops for students at the university. I enjoy being a part of such an amazing team with so many other like minded people! Getting involved with this club has helped me make so many meaningful connections with my peers as well as healthcare and industry professionals. Additionally, in September I was a science orientation leader for incoming undergraduate students. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity, and I loved mentoring the new incoming science students at Waterloo!

Why I love my program

I love my program because it allows me to discuss and learn more about topics that I am passionate about. I have always been interested in psychology as well as science, and this program allows for a perfect balance between those disciplines. I also love the fact that you are able to select your science electives after first year, so you can cater your degree towards your interests. I also love how my program sets up a variety of career paths. You can truly go into anything you choose with this degree!

Why University of Waterloo?

There are a variety of reasons I chose UW. Firstly, it is renowned for their science programs. I remember going to science summer camps at UW almost every year of my childhood, and I loved these events. My fantastic experiences on campus even as a kid really made me love Waterloo. Additionally, UW offers so much program flexibility, as well as job and volunteer opportunities to undergraduate students. These experiences are a fantastic way for myself and others to explore their interests.
