Program: Pharmacy

Year: 1

Stream of study: Co-op

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: Pharmacist!

How I get involved:Coming from a small town, I welcomed the large UW campus. There are always interesting events to partake in. I have participated annually in Relay for Life, won a Halloween costume contest with friends, and am active in the Faculty of Science as a Science Ambassador. I enjoy giving tours to prospective students and writing welcome cards to accepted students!

Why I love my program

In grade 11, I learned of the Honours Science program and was attracted to its flexibility. I enjoyed the freedom I had with my course selections and schedule. During my undergraduate studies, I also held CAP status (Conditional Admission to Pharmacy). This is an excellent opportunity for those like me, who discovered a passion for pharmacy during high school. Now, I am in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. I am excited to partake in co-op work terms to gain practical experience and apply my knowledge!

Why University of Waterloo?

In 2019, I attended the TAM Math Conference at the University of Waterloo. I was impressed with the campus, the buildings, and the guest speakers I listened to. When it came time to apply to universities, I knew I wanted to study science, but I had many questions about my prospective options. The University and its science ambassadors thoroughly answered all my questions, made me feel comfortable with my choices, and ultimately led to my choosing the school. I was also drawn to the CAP program as it allows you to be pre-admitted to the PharmD program, which was my ultimate educational goal.
