Science Ambassador
Bailey

Program: Pharmacy

Year: 2

Stream of study: Co-op

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: Pharmacist!!

How I get involved: Coming from a small town, I was drawn to the expansive UW campus. There are always interesting events to partake in. I am active in the Faculty of Science as a Science Ambassador and with the School of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Ambassador, the First-Year CAPSI Representative, and Junior Admissions Committee Representative. I love talking with prospective students and their families; it’s a full circle moment! Many of my friends participate in intramurals, and I always enjoy cheering them on!

Why I love my program

As a PharmD candidate, I enjoy the learning style at the School of Pharmacy and the benefits of co-op. This unique feature allows students to gain work experience between school terms and apply their knowledge to solidify confidence and ability for future practice. The small class sizes help students form meaningful connections, turning the cohort into a close-knit and supportive “phamily.”

Why University of Waterloo?

In grade 11, I learned of the Honours Science program and was attracted to its flexibility. I enjoyed the freedom I had with my course selections and schedule. I was also drawn to Waterloo’s Conditional Admission to Pharmacy (CAP) program. It is a perfect fit for students like me who discovered a passion for pharmacy in high school and are ready to begin their career journey! Now, as a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate, I appreciate the small class size and patient-focused learning.
