How I get involved: Currently, I am an undergraduate student representative for the Faculty of Science planning committee, as well as a Science Ambassador, but I have also previously been an executive member of the Biochemistry Student Association, and have also been a teaching assistant for both the first-year cell biology laboratories, and the first-year chemistry laboratories!

Why I love my program

Biochemistry opens countless doors when it comes to working in the field of science! With the structure of the degree, coursework, and program elective options, it allows me to work in almost any field, whether that's in biology, chemistry, or any combination of the two after graduation! Biochemistry allows me to explore so many different aspects of both biology, and chemistry, letting me figure out what I'm passionate about!

Why University of Waterloo?

Biochemistry here at the University of Waterloo is a lot more chemistry focused than other biochemistry programs in Ontario, which I really enjoy! The co-op program at the University of Waterloo was also definitely a huge factor into my decision of attending university since it has been able to fund my education and give me priceless work experience before graduating! Another reason I chose the University of Waterloo is because unlike other biochemistry programs I researched in high school, the biochemistry program here allows me to become a member of the Chemical Institute of Canada after graduation.
