Elise - Physics

Science Ambassador

Program: Physics

Year: 2

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: I aim to become a researcher in quantum gravity after getting a master's and PhD, and work towards making new discoveries!

How I get involved: This is my first year of being a science ambassador, and I am also a student rep for my program.

Why I love my program

I just love learning and understanding the workings behind mysterious phenomena like black holes and quantum entanglement. I also really appreciate the abundance of extracurricular activities, from club meetings about building satellites to conferences that will bring you across the world.

Why University of Waterloo?

I chose Waterloo because of how tight knit the community is here. It's really evident that my professors have a genuine love for physics, which rubs off on their students and inspires us to work harder. I also enjoy attending lectures held at the nearby Perimeter Institute and understanding more of how the world works through their talks.
