Program: Environmental Science (Ecology) with double minor in Parks and Digital Arts and Communication
Year: 3
Stream of study: Regular
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: Field Ecologist
How I get involved: During my first two years at UW, I was the secretary and then the president of the Animal Rights Society. Then, in the fall of 2024, I participated in the Science Fall Open House as a volunteer and enjoyed interacting with the community around me!
Why I love my program
I love my program because I get to learn niche things about our environment along with various hands-on opportunities, and it gives me the chance to pause every two seconds during a walk to observe plants, or to stop and stare at squirrels :)
Why University of Waterloo?
From touring the UWaterloo campus during my grade 12 year, I immediately fell in love with the natural environment on campus, such as the Peter Russell Rock Garden and the live plant wall in the Environment building, amongst other things! I also admire the fact that Waterloo has a plethora of clubs to join and offers many unique courses (ie. SCI 211 - Traditional Medicines Land-Based Field Course).
