Program: Biomedical Sciences
Year: 2
Pronouns: He/Him
Career goal: I want to pursue a career in medicine where I can make a difference in the lives of those in my community.
How I get involved: At Waterloo, I stay involved through clubs, taking on executive roles in the ones I care most about to help run and market events. I also serve as an orientation leader to welcome incoming students.
Why I love my program
I love my program because it exposes me to a wide range of science courses I wouldn't have taken otherwise, which has helped me discover new academic interests I didn't know I had. The lab courses give me hands-on experience with scientific procedures, which will be valuable for working in a lab environment. Even with a full science course load, there's still room for electives, so I can learn more about my non-science passions as well. On top of all that, the program ensures I'm meeting the requirements I need for graduate school without me having to worry about selecting the right courses.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose Waterloo because of its strong reputation in science and research, along with the opportunities to get involved outside the classroom, like the wide range of clubs and intramurals. The campus community and school spirit also made it feel like a place where I could find people who motivate me to be my best self.
