Program: Biology
Year: 2
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: Pharmacy!
How I get involved: Aside from being a science ambassador, I also volunteer at the campus pharmacy. I’ve been an events coordinator for SciSoc as well as volunteered at campus open houses in the past. I’m also involved in other UW clubs, such as BUGS, Indian Cultural Association, and Photography Club. I enjoy going to various clubs and events with my friends to meet new people and explore campus life!
Why I love my program
I love my program because of the flexibility it offers. With a wide variety of courses to choose from, I get to explore all the different fields of biology and discover new interests. As a hands-on learner, the labs visualize the content being taught in lectures and help solidify my understanding, while I develop my lab skills. Also, with a large program such as this one, I get to meet like-minded students and become part of a community that supports my academic journey.
Why University of Waterloo?
While I was initially drawn to Waterloo because of their co-op program, I ultimately chose it because of the hands-on learning in and out of the classroom, research opportunities from early on, and multiple program options to explore different career possibilities. They also have many well-renowned professional schools to further pursue a post undergraduate degree. Plus, who doesn’t love having their own faculty mascot?
