How I get involved: I've gotten involved at Waterloo through both leadership and community outreach. I was one of the Sponsorship Directors for the UW Supporting SickKids club, where I helped build partnerships for fundraising initiatives. I also volunteered at the Kids' Science Open House at the University, which was a fun opportunity to share science with children and their families. These experiences have helped me meet new people and become more connected to the Waterloo community.
Why I love my program
What I love most about Biochemistry is the flexibility it offers. I get to learn from both the chemistry and biology sides of things, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of the life sciences. As I've moved into upper-year courses, I've also had the freedom to choose electives that align with my interests, whether that's exploring more chemistry-focused topics or diving deeper into biology.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose Waterloo because of its co-op program and the research opportunities available to undergraduate students. I wanted to gain hands-on experience both in the workplace and in research, and Waterloo offered the chance to explore different career paths while building practical skills alongside my studies.
