How I get involved: There are so many diverse ways you can get involved at Waterloo! I’ve had a great time getting involved across campus in a bunch of different ways throughout my first year. On the student leadership side, I served as the First-Year Representative for the SciSoc, helping organize initiatives and advocate for students, and I’m also stepping into an Orientation Leader role to welcome incoming science students. On the academic side, I am an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Developmental Visuomotor Neuroscience Lab. Outside of academics, I keep active through intramural basketball and love taking part in community events whenever I can!

Why I love my program

Biomedical Sciences gives you a strong foundation across the core sciences with the freedom to tailor your degree in upper years, plus perks like priority for some of the popular science courses. However, what really sets it apart is the culture, facing challenging terms alongside a driven, genuinely supportive group of peers who build each other up has made all the difference for me!

Why University of Waterloo?

Growing up in KW, Waterloo was right in my backyard, but I didn't realize what made it different until I saw the campus dynamic for myself. uWaterloo is a world-class university, but what really stands out is our welcoming academic environment. Studying here allows me to access amazing resources and build meaningful connections while staying close to my personal support network.
