Year: 3

Stream of study: Regular

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: I aspire to pursue a career in the medical field, with a particular interest in pediatrics and endocrinology. I am also passionate about contributing to medical research.

How I get involved: In addition to serving as a Science Ambassador, I have worked as a TA for the Introductory Cell Biology lab for two semesters and am currently a TA for the Fundamentals of Microbiology lab. I have also volunteered at the Women’s Centre and served as an Administrative Executive with Women in Healthcare. Furthermore, I enjoy supporting school events, including volunteering as a Science Orientation Leader.

Why I love my program

I love the flexibility my program offers throughout my degree. The first-year requirements gave me a strong foundation across many subjects, and I’ve been able to build on that knowledge by choosing upper-year courses that truly interest me. I also appreciate the practical experience Biomedical students gain through engaging and insightful lab work. The program provides the structure to guide my education while still allowing me the freedom to explore my own academic interests.

Why University of Waterloo?

I chose the University of Waterloo because it combines a strong science program with countless opportunities to get involved beyond the classroom. From research and academics to leadership and community engagement, I believe it would provide me with the best foundation to further my academic career!
