How I get involved: I stay involved at Waterloo by participating in clubs that align with my interests, including the Bioethics Club and the Stem Cell Club, where I can combine my passion for science with my interest in pursuing a future in law. I also work as a lifeguard at PAC, which has been a great way to meet people and build friendships. Between clubs, classes, labs, and work, I've found a supportive community that has made my university experience more enjoyable.
Why I love my program
I love studying Biology at Waterloo because it combines hands-on experiences with what we learn in lectures. My labs let me apply what I learn in class, build practical skills, and problem solve on my own. Waterloo's co-op program has also been a highlight, giving me valuable work experience. Working in different positions has helped me grow both academically and professionally. Physically seeing what we learn in the workforce, makes my education far more engaging and rewarding.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose the University of Waterloo because of its strong STEM reputation and exceptional co-op program. I wanted a university experience that would allow me to build a strong academic foundation while also gaining hands-on, real-world experience through co-op. When I toured the Science buildings and labs, I was excited by the spaces designed for collaboration, discovery, and learning. Beyond academics, Waterloo provides countless opportunities to connect with others who share similar passions. Whether through classes, clubs, events, or labs, I knew I would be able to find a community of people who are just as excited about science as I am.
