Program: Biomedical Sciences
Year: 2
Pronouns: She/Her
Career goal: I aspire to pursue a career in the healthcare field!
How I get involved: I've enjoyed getting involved in different ways throughout my time at Waterloo. I've been a residence tour guide, which has been a great way to meet future students and share what life at Waterloo is actually like, and I have also volunteered at the Earth Sciences Museum Open House. I'm also a member of the Biomedical Student Association (BMSA) and the Endocrinology Undergraduate Students' Association (EUSA). I'm always looking for new ways to get involved, and I'm excited to see what opportunities this upcoming year brings!
Why I love my program
I love that Biomedical Sciences gives me the opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects without feeling limited to one area. Getting the chance to complete many of the core courses in my first two years has given me more flexibility to tailor and plan my upper-year courses to my interests! I also like that the program exposes you to so many different areas of science, and the lab courses are a great way to put what we've learned in lectures into practice.
Why University of Waterloo?
I chose Waterloo because I wanted a university where I could challenge myself academically while also having lots of opportunities to get involved outside the classroom. I really liked how welcoming the science community felt, and I knew there would be plenty of ways to meet people with similar interests through clubs, volunteering, and campus events.
