How I get involved: This year, I helped out with science orientation for the first time, and I am a second-year rep for the pre-optometry club. I am also currently working at an optometrist's clinic.
Why I love my program
When I started first year, I wasn’t completely sure which profession I wanted to pursue. Biomedical Sciences was the perfect choice because it covered many of the prerequisites I needed within the course sequence, which helped me keep multiple doors open. On top of that, the program’s flexibility with electives throughout the four years allows me to explore different interests.

I chose the University of Waterloo because it balances a strong academic foundation with the flexibility to explore different passions and areas of science, while also offering a welcoming and supportive environment that makes it easy to thrive and keep many future paths open.
