How I get involved: I stay involved at Waterloo through undergraduate research, attending employer networking events, meeting with professors and alumni to learn about different career paths, and participating in campus initiatives that support my interests in science, business, and finance.

Why I love my program

I love the Science and Business program because it allows me to combine analytical thinking with real-world decision-making. I enjoy learning the scientific principles behind innovation while also developing an understanding of business strategy, finance, and entrepreneurship. The interdisciplinary nature of the program has strengthened my problem-solving skills and taught me how to approach complex challenges from both scientific and commercial perspectives. It has also given me the flexibility to explore diverse career paths, including finance and asset management, while building a strong foundation in critical thinking and communication.

I chose the University of Waterloo because of its strong reputation for academic excellence, experiential learning, and industry connections. The co-op program and emphasis on real-world experience stood out to me as valuable opportunities to apply what I learn in the classroom and build meaningful career experience early on. I was also drawn to the flexibility of interdisciplinary programs like Science and Business, which allow me to explore both scientific and business interests while preparing for diverse career paths. Additionally, Waterloo’s innovative environment and strong alumni network made it the right place for me to grow academically and professionally.
