All UWSA members are invited to attend our 2024 Annual Meeting on October 24 at 9:00 a.m. We are offering a hybrid meeting this year, on Teams and in Physics room 313.

The UWSA Area Representatives Council is a space to exchange information about current issues facing staff at UW and to keep an open line of communication between the UWSA leadership and staff members across the University. 

Meet the candidates in this year's presidential and directorial elections. Candidate details will be posted on our website by Tuesday, October 1.

Registration is now open. Please submit questions in advance so that any candidates who can't be there live can record their responses.

You can be a driving force for positive change by running for Staff Association president or the Board of Directors. In either role, you can help guide the association's work ensuring that staff voices and interests are represented across our campuses.

In this information session, you'll hear from the current UWSA directors, president, and president-elect about their experiences in the role and have an opportunity to ask questions.

The September Area Reps meeting is open to all staff and will feature a presentation on the development of UW disability affinity networks that work for our community’s unique needs. The meeting will also include an update from UWSA president Yessenia Guerrero, and information about UWSA elections.

How to disconnect from work:

Step 1: Invite your whole team to this panel discussion.

Step 2: Get away from your desk and find somewhere comfy to sit for an hour.

Step 3: Listen to our panelists share their thoughts, experience, and advice on what work is, why we need breaks from it, and how we can help each other unplug.

Step 4: Talk about it with your colleagues!

Join your colleagues to learn from each other as we explore the governance structures of the University, where staff have power, and how you can participate.

This will be an in-person, hands-on workshop. We may provide an online version in the future.

UWSA is looking forward to hosting Meaghan Ross (she) from Organizational and Human Development on May 10 and 24 where she’ll facilitate two custom workshops for UWSA volunteers and employees in which we will learn how to plan, run and participate in effective meetings – both within UWSA, and as UWSA representatives on committees working across the University.
