On November 23rd, more than 110 people joined us at Fed Hall for an afternoon of celebration, networking, and community building at our 9th annual Eco Summit. The theme of this year’s Eco Summit was ‘What Can We Do’, placing the focus on how we can work together towards sustainability.
Throughout October, the Sustainability Office and Plant Operations – Environmental Services hosted Zero Waste Month on campus. The university has committed to becoming a zero-waste campus by 2035, and a critical part of meeting that target is engaging our campus community Throughout the month, we ran a series of activities to spread awareness, educate our campus, and encourage participation in our Shift: Zero campaign.

The Sustainability Action Fund (SAF) supports projects and initiatives that improve sustainability at the University of Waterloo. Project funds are distributed based on a call for applications, with successful applications determined by the President’s Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (PACES).
