Hands playing the piano

Vaiva Dzemionas, BSW student, loves music. She’s been playing since she was five years old and was trained in voice as a teen. Vaiva is also a talented composer and enjoys combining her musical skills to create beautiful melodies.

On Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Vaiva hosts ‘Mindful Music’ at St. Paul’s in Alumni Hall. So far, participants have covered everything from the classics of The Beatles to Taylor Swift's latest hits. Vaiva performs on the keys and inspires others to join her in song. ’Mindful Music’ encourages the students of St. Paul's to connect with one another and build a community of support and friendship.

Sometimes it can be difficult to express feelings, and Vaiva has given students another venue for release and peer support.  It’s a great way for students to escape their academic responsibilities for a short while and experience something lighthearted and fun.

Next Wednesday, bring your voice, your thoughts, and your instruments. You do not need to be musically inclined to create some joyful noise!
