St. Paul’s GreenHouse is thrilled to announce that Katie Heggtveit, Manager: Workplace Innovation, has been awarded the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship. This medal is given to civilians who have made a lasting and impactful mark on their community and is the second-highest award that can be given to civilians in Ontario.

Coming into university, many students don’t feel as though they have a full understanding of their mental health and how to ensure they are taking care of it. Mental wellbeing is how well a person can cope with the stresses, changes, and happenings of day-to-day life.  

Flu season is upon us and it happens to coincide with the busiest part of our student’s semesters. Going into their exam season, it can be difficult to take extra time out of their day to get off campus and find a way to a pharmacy to receive their flu shots. But that doesn’t take away from the importance they see in protecting themselves and their community.

Just over a year ago, St. Paul’s proudly welcomed our third Chancellor, Mme Michaëlle Jean. Chancellor is a ceremonial position of the Board of Governors of St.

From October 31^st – November 12^th, 2021, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (most commonly known as COP26) was hosted in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

While wandering on campus, you may notice that there are numerous red and orange ribbons tied to the bridge crossing Laurel Creek from Environment 3 to St. Paul’s. In 2016, the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre began tying red ribbons to the bridge to honour and provide a gentle reminder of the lives of 4000+ missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people, as a part of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

We write to you today on behalf of the College to express our solidarity with all Muslim members of the St. Paul’s community. We condemn the recent murder of four members of a Muslim family in London and are appalled by the hatred and bigotry that engendered it. Those of us who live, work and study at St. Paul’s regard its diversity as one of its primary strengths.  We are pleased that our community includes many Muslim members and we want them to know that they have our full support in these difficult days.

The flag at the front of the College has been lowered to half-mast for the week to honour the children whose remains were discovered last week in a mass grave at the residential school in Kamloops.

Faculty and Staff will be meeting to discuss the matter on Thursday and will issue a statement at that point.

Watson’s Eatery is excited to announce it is now home to a new food service provider, as St. Paul’s University College has started a partnership with Brown’s Fine Food Services on April 29, 2021, for a three-year term.
