For Jordyn Maywood, the secret to navigating the intensity of a Biomedical Engineering degree at the University of Waterloo began with finding her circle.

By choosing to live at United College in the Women in Engineering Living-Learning Community (LLC) during her first year, she gained a vital support system that fostered both confidence and inclusion.

For Isabella Mills, the University of Waterloo wasn’t just a place to study, it became a second home through her five year stay at United College. As she prepares to graduate this spring with a degree in English, she reflects on the journey that brought her to the College and the experiences that have shaped her along the way.

The early-stage ventures of Indigenous entrepreneurs are set to receive a boost through a $50,000 donation from Scotiabank to United College at the University of Waterloo. This contribution will help Indigenous entrepreneurs transform their ideas into sustainable realities.

Happy 60^th anniversary United College!   

Sixty years after United College welcomed its first cohort of students in 1963, the college once again opened its doors and invited guests to back campus to celebrate 60 years of academic excellence and community at a special summer BBQ on Saturday, July 15^th, 2023.   

Convocation is a coming together.    

It is a coming together of students, family, and friends to celebrate achievements, to highlight successes along academic journeys, to commemorate moving on to an exciting new chapter. It is a recognition of shared trials and tribulations, of overcoming obstacles and navigating rocks in one’s path.

With Giving Tuesday just around the corner, alumnus Andrew Grimson shares his story on the value of giving back to United College.

This year at the Stanley Knowles Lecture, the Cronk-Mastin Scholarship was awarded to Elizabeth Beach who has stood out within the United College community for her compassion and dedication to higher learning.

This year at the Stanley Knowles Lecture, the award was given to two students Maya Henderson and Jordyn Maywood who have done an incredible job of fostering a sense of community for their peers at United College.

This year at the Stanley Knowles lecture, to honour his kindness and hard work, the Bob Rosehart fellowship was awarded to Riley Purdie who has displayed strong academics and positive social contributions to her community.
