Applied Mathematics professor Marek Stastna appointed Associate Dean, Computing

Professor Marek Stastna of the Department of Applied Mathematics begins an appointment as the new Associate Dean, Computing at the Faculty of Mathematics in January 2022.

Stastna’s research, primarily computational in nature, focuses on the motion of stratified fluids such as in oceans, lakes, and the atmosphere.  He has previously served as the Associate Dean, Computing (2014-2017) and was the president of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society in 2020-2021.
