The Arts Communication team is based in the Dean of Arts Office and is responsible for delivering a wide range of communication services within the Faculty and in coordination with University-level communication teams, marketing and outreach teams, research centres, and academic support units.
What we do
- Source and write stories and news covering research, teaching, student experience, alumni, etc.
- Support and advise on websites, including Faculty, departmental, support unit sites; advise on research sites. We can help with web best practices, accessibility, quality assurance, analytics and troubleshooting the WCMS.
- Manage social media at the Faculty level and advise at the unit level, including management and strategy, best practices, amplifying department content and support.
- Manage graduate marketing in collaboration with graduate program leads
- Collaborate with Media Relations (University Relations) on media releases, pitches, expert commentators
- Collaborate with University Relations on Arts content for publications such as Global Futures, Waterloo Magazine, or university homepage promotion
- Collaborate with Arts Advancement on alumni and donor communications
- Support Dean and Dean’s Office on events, announcements, Arts Awards, convocation, etc.
- Gather and document Arts contributions to Faculty and University strategic priorities
- Promote events in collaboration with Faculty or campus partners
