What is academic advising?
It is the support available to you to seek guidance on your academic journey whether that be understanding your degree requirements, getting help in planning or selecting your courses, troubleshooting your academic and personal challenges, or finding ways to enhance your learning. Academic advising is available to you throughout your studies and is designed to help you navigate your first year until your graduation.
An academic advisor is someone who is knowledgeable about your studies and who you can reach out to with questions and/or concerns about your academic success. They will help you to understand your undergraduate calendar requirements and policies so that you can navigate these rules to support your growth and academic experience. They can also recommend student services to improve your learning and offer suggestions to customize your studies to develop your skills and interests.
