Mathematics in Europe Spring 2018

Thursday, October 5, 2017 5:30 pm - 5:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

A unique opportunity to study Mathematics in Europe in Spring 2018.

The Faculty of Mathematics is planning to take a group of students to Europe in Spring 2018, for their 2A term (or 2B). The group will spend about 5 weeks in Rome, Italy, and 7 weeks in Montpellier, France.

Two Faculty of Mathematics Professors will be with the group. These Professors will offer 3-4 of the University Waterloo core Mathematics courses, taught in English, during this 90 days period. The grades obtained in these courses will appear in your transcript.

This is a unique opportunity to spend an extended period in Europe, while studying as if you were in Waterloo!

Come out to the information session on Thursday October 5that 5:30 pm in MC 2054 to learn more.

This program is only being offered to students (generally) entering their 2A (or 2B) term in the Spring term. If Spring 2018 is a co-op term for you then we will be able to change your co-op sequence, in order to enable you to take advantage of this opportunity.

More details on the Math in Europe program (MIE), the experiences of groups that participated in the program in previous years, along with a question and answer at the end will be provided at the information session.

If you are interested in the program, you are strongly advised to attend this meeting. However, if you cannot attend, please provide your e-mail address to cghewitt@uwaterloo.ca with MIE in the subject line.

Hope to see you there!
