Co-op Prep Session #1 (a.m./p.m. sessions available)

The CFM program is hosting an introductory Co-op Prep Session for first year students. This information session will cover all general co-op information including, co-op schedule, interview process, resume tips, taking professional headshots, creating an effective LinkedIn profile, and starting a GitHub account.

Students have the option to attend either one of sessions listed below:

Co-op Prep Session #1 (Morning Session): Saturday November 14 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. (EST)

Co-op Prep Session #2

First-year CFM students are invited to learn about the co-op application process and get hands-on support from upper-year students for their spring 2021 applications.

In a virtual fair-style, students will rotate between "stations" to learn about all of the areas of co-op:

  • Resume tips 
  • Interview tips, skills, and strategies 
  • Navigating Waterloo Works
  • Networking
  • PD courses and work term reports 

First years are asked to bring their prepared resume for a chance to have it reviewed and edited.

Grade 10 Family Night

Grade 10 students and their supporters are invited to attend our virtual Grade 10 Family Night information session to learn more about applying to university and what they can do now to prepare. Our university experts will share information on topics like admissions and finances while current students will share what it was like to go from high school to university. Dr. Christine Logel, Associate Professor of Social Development Studies, will provide helpful tips on things university students wish they knew before applying.

End of term Social!

End of Term Social will be held on Thursday, December 8th from 5:30-8:30pm in the DC Fishbowl (DC1301)! We will be having a Team Gingerbread house decorating competition. Supplies will be provided by CFM. The winners will be chosen by a surprise guest and there will also be a prize chosen by the attendees. Teams will be randomly selected. Please wear your favourite or ugliest holiday sweater! There will be games, Christmas music and Jacqueline's Catering will be providing dinner!!
