Info session for students interested in international exchange

This year, all students planning to participate in an exchange or study abroad program in the 2019/20 academic year will be required to attend an information session before they can apply.

Information sessions will be held in the Student Success Office several times a week starting on August 8, and will help students be more informed about the process and more intentional with their applications to go abroad.

Sit down, relax and enjoy a delicious treat while you get to know other first year CFM students in your program. Join us for a night of fun icebreaker activities, after the Earn Your Tie event, and get your chance to win a CFM sweater.

AFOW – Accounting and Finance Orientation Week

For Accounting and Finance students in all four programs, Math/CPA, Science BioTech/CPA, CFM, and AFM there is a special set of orientation events just for you hosted by the Accounting and Finance Orientation Week (AFOW) organizers.

Orientation takes place at various times during the day from Sunday, September 9 to Friday, September 14 and fits in with the first full week of classes.

Dimensions of Global Disruption - Lecture by Dominic Barton

Vice-Chancellor Feridun Hamdullahpur presents a special President's Lecture featuring the new Chancellor, Dominic Barton, who will share his insights and reflections on the global economy and on the University of Waterloo's position and opportunities as a leader in global innovation. Mr. Barton, Global Managing Partner Emeritus, McKinsey & Company was recently appointed as the University of Waterloo's eleventh Chancellor.

CFM Fun Run 2018

Walk or run at this year’s Fun Run with your CFM students and alumni. The run will take place on the University of Waterloo’s Ring Road at South Campus Hall and is open to all ages. The Run will feature Bib Tag technology and results will be posted online as part of an official race. You’ll receive a CFM and Fun Run t-shirt and a finisher medal for participating! Prizes will also be awarded for best adult, group, and youth costumes.

CS Upper Year Info Session

This is an opportunity for students to come out and discuss the opportunities available to them through third-year and fourth-year courses. Differences among the various courses will be explained and you'll get advice on preparing for upper-year specialization — e.g., what courses to choose to prepare for graphics, AI, etc. Refreshments will be provided.

Common experience and a growing body of evidence from many different countries suggests that in fact different firms often pay higher or lower wages, and that the differentials between firms offering good and bad jobs are wider than ever.

Open House Volunteer Wanted!

On Saturday November 3 the school will be having the Fall Open House. We are looking for student who are interested in being volunteers to represent the CFM program on this special day. You will have opportunities to talk to prospective CFM students, share your experiences, and offer your advice. You will also have chances to lead tours and build connection.
