The Teradata University Network (TUN) accepted proposals for its second annual Data Challenge on April 29, 2016. The challenge asks students to apply data analytics to a real world organization by giving each team the same data set and business questions from a non-profit. Submissions are evaluated based on the originality of the idea; quality of argumentation; writing quality; and overall contribution to new knowledge.
This year, the Teradata Partner is Hire Heroes USA, which specializes in helping veterans find employment. Under the guidance of Kieng Iv, Jennifer Lo (3B CFM), Erin Xie, Arthur Law, and Michael Zhang prepared a report of their findings, a PowerPoint presentation, and data visualizations. Their submission has been reviewed by the TUN Selection Committee and they will be advancing to the Final Presentations on September 11-15, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. They are one of seven groups selected out of 33 submissions worldwide.
Computing and Financial Management wishes Jennifer and her team all the best in the finals!
