Opportunities in Fintech a success

The CFM program and UW Fintech club partnered to offer students an opportunity to hear from U of Waterloo alumni working in the fintech sector. The event was designed to allow students to hear what the current and emerging trends are in the fintech space. Additionally, panelists provided those in attendance with advice on launching a career in the fintech sector.

The panel discussion was moderated by CFM Co-Directors George Labahn and James Thompson. The panelists, all U of Waterloo graduates, were asked a series of questions by the moderators. At the end of the panel discussion the floor was opened for student questions. Students also had an opportunity to ask questions of the panelist during the reception.

Panelists included Petar Zelic, Joey Zhang and Andy Wang. Joey and Andy are early graduates of the CFM Program. Their careers have had divergent paths and provided students with a great breadth of insights. There were many positive comments about the event from those students in attendance. The insights provided by the panelist provided participants with many great takeaways.
