The team of students created SafeLane, a web interface designed to map out the safest and most efficient routes for drivers. The interface is intended to avoid routes with high collision frequency intersections and streets, and not necessarily offer the quickest routes. SafeLane is ideal for new drivers, people with previous car accidents, and drivers with kids onboard.
Hack the Valley is a 36-hour hackathon, run by U of T students, to expose participants to problem-solving and hackathon culture. Participants only need a laptop and charger to join. Roughly 750 developers, designers and creators get involved in this event.
