Every term Velocity hosts a graduate student specific event that focuses on monetizing work as a grad student called “Turn Your Research Into a Startup”. It features a panel of current and former grad students who have entered or are working on entering into the startup world, along with a UWaterloo professor that with relevant experience. They will discuss the processes they went through and how they were able to utilize their grad studies experience to create a company of their own. This term’s iteration takes place on Thursday April 4th, from 4:30-6:30 in QNC 0101. There will be complimentary beer and appetizers to encourage networking before the panel begins.
The panel will be moderated by Velocity Business Advisor Adrien Côté and will consist of the following members:

Many graduate students have ideas or research interests that could be transitioned into a startup or commercialized in some way. I encourage you to pass this message on to your graduate students to encourage their participation.
