Being comfortable in chaos is no easy task. Just ask INDEV alum, Seyni Mbaye who works as a program officer at Results for Development supporting the Strategic Purchasing Africa Resource Center (SPARC) and the Health System Strengthening Accelerator (HSSA) projects for the progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in sub-Saharan Africa.

Join us at the Flood Impacts, Carbon Pricing, and Ecosystem Sustainability (FINCAPES) project launch; an international research and teaching project in collaboration with Indonesian partners on climate-change adaptation and mitigation strategies in the country. This is an opportunity to learn more and get involved with the project as well as meet the project team and our Indonesian partners, whose first-hand experience with the fight against climate change is the inspiration for the program.  

In honour of Earth Day, join the Sustainability Office's annual campus clean-up! There are a number of litter "hot spots" on and around main campus that we'll tackle in small groups. Bags, gloves, and litter pickers will be provided. We hope to see you there! 

The inaugural Futures Forum will focus on opportunities and challenges of public engagement, as viewed through the lens of technological, socio-economic, and political changes. 

Join the FAUW Climate Justice Working Group and Waterloo Climate Institute for an informal workshop with authors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The interdisciplinary discussion will consider how science, technology, policy and culture can help us understand and respond to climate change and climate justice. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to participate. 

The talk will address issues like challenges in understanding happiness as a construct, observed evidence in scientific domain and establishing happiness as a transdisciplinary field of study. Staff, faculty and students are welcome to attend. 

Let's gather and connect! Students, staff and faculty are invited to the EV3 Atrium on Thursday, July 13 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. for snacks and drinks. Hosted by Dean Frayne, this is an opportunity to re(build) care and connection with others in the Faculty of Environment and is the first in a series of community building events. No registration is required.
